A Message from our Chair

New SBRRB Website
Over the past several months, our Board along with the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, have been diligently working on revamping the SBRRB’s existing website and creating an informative, interactive, user-friendly communication tool for Hawaii’s small business community and all the State and County agencies that promulgated Hawaii Administrative Rules.  Be on the look-out for our new website!  We will keep you appraised of the launch date.
The SBRRB hopes that all the Hawaii small business owners had a happy and prosperous King Kamehameha Day on June 11th.

Events at the Capitol

2019 Hawaii Small Businesses
on the Hill

June 11-12, 2019

Last year was the 5th anniversary of Hawaii on the Hill, which was a huge success thanks to our delegation of more than 150 participants representing 80 businesses. More than 2,000 attended our Taste of Hawaii on the Hill, making it the biggest event on Capitol Hill. Mahalo to all of our participants and sponsors for making the 2018 Hawaii on the Hill a  success. While it will be a tough one to beat, we look forward to RAISING THE BAR at this year’s Hawaii on the Hill.

What is Hawaii on the Hill?

A tradition on Capitol Hill is for each state to host a “Taste of” event as a means of promoting itself and highlighting the food and beverage, and other industries, that are unique to the state. Showcasing state pride, these events have featured anywhere from 12-40 exhibitors and 200-700+ attendees.

Hawaii had never hosted such an event until 2014, when U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono reached out to the Chamber to develop an initiative to showcase Hawaii with a series of events on Capitol Hill, including a “Taste of Hawaii on Capitol Hill,” at which Hawaii’s food, culture and industries are showcased. The Chamber launched its “Hawaii on the Hill” that year, which has grown from 50 to over 100 participants representing more than 80 companies.
