Energy economist Jeff Rubin to headline Prince George Bioenergy Conference

The 7th International Bioenergy Conference and Exhibition is pleased to announce Jeff Rubin will be one of the keynote speakers at Canada’s leading bioenergy conference, June 16, 2016 in Prince George, BC, Canada.

A chief economist at CIBC World Markets for nearly 20 years, Rubin is a thought leader on the intersection of economy, energy and climate change. Rubin doesn’t always get it right. But he gets it right more than he gets it wrong. And when he talks, people listen.

Rubin was one of the first economists to accurately predict rising oil prices in 2000. Now he has a surprising, and in some ways rosier, forecast for the future.

His  bestselling book, The End of Growth…But is That All Bad? argues that the end of cheap oil means dwindling oil supplies for the future, but that it could lead to emergence of local economies and actually stimulate North American economy as well as helping the world’s climate-change problem.

Rubin penned the best-selling 2009 book Why Your World Is About to Get a Whole Lot Smaller: Oil and the End of Globalization, winner of the Canadian Business Book of the Year award.

In addition to Rubin, a number of leaders in bioenergy globally have been lined up for the program at the conference. Stay tuned for further announcements.
