Welcome New Subscribers!
This coming Monday is the 72nd anniversary of D-Day. Last year at this time, my husband and I toured the beaches (see the post below) where 150,000 troops invaded northern France in order to free it from the Germans. The larger effect, though was to insure our freedom for years to come.
Since the war ended, we have continued to build our relationship with Europe, including the countries we fought against. Over the years, Europe has become our most-traveled-to international vacation destination.

Are you thinking about a trip to Europe?  Airline prices are lower than they have been in a long time, so now is a great time to go.  I still have room on my tour - be sure to ask if you have any questions.
Visiting World War II sites was a moving experience, and one that I would recommend. It made me especially thankful for those who gave their lives to insure our freedom and to make our world a safe and pleasant place to visit.
Enjoy the posts this week. Feel free to share the newsletter with your
family and friends!

“This operation is not being planned with any alternatives. This operation is planned as a victory, and that's the way it's going to be. We're going down there, and we're throwing everything we have into it, and we're going to make it a success.ʺ
- General Dwight D Eisenhower

When we think about the World War II sites, the beaches of Normandy are often the first ones we think about.  Although war had been raging since 1939 in some parts of Europe, the turning point of the war...

Using Review Sites to Help in Your Planning

Travel review sites can be helpful if you know how to use them, but they should not be your only source of information.  Tripadvisor is the most popular one, but there are others.  Tripexpert uses experts rather than the general public to rate establishments.  Localeur bases its reviews on the opinions of local residents.  And Gogobot combines experts’ opinions with those of other users to give a complete review.

Most travel-related businesses on the internet include a review section where people can comment...
