Time to Knit!
Welcome New Subscribers!
Now that the holidays are over, I am finding more time to knit. I'm glad to be able to relax with my needles after the busy-ness of the holidays.
I set several knitting goals for myself for this year and am working on the first one - knitting with beads.  I am knitting Boo Knits' "Snow Angel" and it's going well. Another goal was to knit a pair of socks each month - I'm not doing as well on that goal. I have a pair of socks that I started last year - they will be my first pair to finish.
I finished knitting Christmas gifts for my mom and sisters well on time - I'll post pictures on Ravelry soon. I also recently finished a scarf for myself.
Next week, I'll post my review of the yarn and fabric shops I visited last fall in Amsterdam. I'm planning another trip to Europe in the spring and hope to visit a few more yarn shops then.
I love knitting almost as much as traveling - I'm glad I can knit when I can't travel. Often, I knit even while I'm traveling.
Are you planning any trips?  Do you indulge in your hobbies when you travel?  I hope so.

There are six countries in Europe that are labeled micro states because of their size. They are  – from smallest (.17 sq. miles) to largest (181 sq. miles) – the Vatican City, Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Malta, and Andorra. Monaco is .78 square miles.

Monaco is located on the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by France but less than ten miles from the Italian border. It is the most densely populated country in the world, with a population of around 37,000 people.

My daughter and I stopped in Monaco a couple years ago...

Nashville and Stitches South

I traveled a little closer to home this past weekend – a little over six hours by car.  I went to Nashville, Tennessee – a great place to visit – even greater if you have two daughters living there like I do.  Most of all, I spent time visiting with my daughters, but also enjoyed a bit of Nashville and went to the Stitches South fiber festival.

I arrived with another daughter late Thursday evening (or maybe it was Friday morning).  We were able to stay with my oldest daughter so we saved the cost of a hotel room for the three nights we were there.

There is so much to do in Nashville...
