Cherish Family, Cherish Friends
Welcome New Subscribers!
My parents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past Sunday - yes, 60th!  Most of the
family members were able to be with them to help celebrate - others sent their wishes by phone or mail.  My mother was my first European travel companion - a trip I will never forget. (Click here or see the archive post below).
My husband traveled with me when I returned two years later. I was hooked. I've traveled many times since - each time with at least one
family member - and every trip is special! Some of my travel partners now have health issues that make it difficult or impossible to travel, so I am even more grateful for the trips we were able to share in the past.
Now, I am also planning travel with
friends...and on the tour this fall, I hope to make new friends!
Cherish your
family; cherish your friends. Travel together. Make memories that will last for the rest of your lives.
Remember to share the newsletter with your
family and friends and enjoy the posts this week!

The yarn shop was located...

My First Trip Abroad

“Mom, look!” I said, “It’s our plane!”  I was so excited – this was my first trip abroad.  My mom and I went on a one week whirlwind trip to the Netherlands.  That trip was fifteen years ago, but it was the one that instilled in me a passion for travel.

I had always dreamed of traveling to the “old country” as some of my relatives called it.  My grandfather, my mom’s father, was born in the Netherlands; on my father’s side it was my great-grandparents.  I started tracing my family history when I was in junior high...
