Is Construction Management an Art or a Science?

In construction paradise...

  • It only rains on Saturday evenings… after dark and is always finished by dawn with a spectacular Sunday sunrise and a beautiful sunny day that dries things out for Monday.
  • Building, zoning and regulatory officials provide same-day review and permits.
  • Banks are always looking for ways to lend money… even as soon as this afternoon, if you need it.
  • Subcontractors are fully staffed and just happen to have an opening on their schedule that they were hoping to fill when you call.
  • There is no such thing as unsuitable soils.

But, in the real world...

Construction Outlook is Sunny for GE On Wing Support’s New Kentucky Home

Construction is rapidly progressing at GE Aviation’s On Wing Support Center that Hemmer is building for VanTrust Real Estate at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The new facility will double the size of GE’s current facility in Northern Kentucky and will be ready for occupancy in December.

Grace Fellowship Moving Forward in Independence

Work is well underway for Grace Fellowship’s newest facility, which will be located in the former Kroger at 1800 Declaration Drive in Independence, Kentucky. The new center will include an auditorium, classrooms, and nursery.

Prologis - Monroe

Construction has wrapped up on Prologis’ 755,000 sq. ft. facility in Monroe, Ohio. The building features 38’ clear height and is leased to Bed Bath and Beyond. This is Hemmer’s 17th new facility that it has completed for Prologis, which is the largest industrial real estate company in the world.

Company Notes

Since 1921, the Hemmer name has been associated with quality construction. While known today as an industrial and commercial contractor, the Hemmer legacy actually began as a residential building contractor.

This is one of the homes that John Hemmer constructed in the company’s days as a home builder, but we’re not sure where it is located. If you can tell us, send us an e-mail at info@paulhemmer.com.

Welcome Blake Beiting

Paul Hemmer Company welcomes Blake Beiting, who is a junior at Northern Kentucky University where he is majoring in construction management. Blake will be working as a co-op and will be assisting Hemmer project manager and superintendents. Blake is on NKU’s fishing team.
