LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Day

Today, May 28th is LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Day and the theme is #SeenAndBelieved.

Many LGBTQ relationships are loving and respectful. However our latest research on LGBTQ communities in Australia shows that around 60% of respondents had experienced intimate partner violence or family violence in their lifetime.

There is a great need for family violence services to see, believe and support LGBTQ people who are experiencing violence and for LGBTQ people to know that family violence services are safe for them to access.
