Welcome to My Year of Grace!
Happy New Year!
That's right. We've haven't spoken since New Year's Eve. Did you miss me? I certainly missed you. If you'd like to know what I've been up to, check out the latest blog post below.
It's Official!
I'm so excited about my 6th book. It's a fictionalized memoir that I hope inspires healing, hope, and reconciliation of relationships. I would say that I've "poured myself" into this book, but it's just the opposite. I've pushed passed my own pain to write TOYI ELIZABETH. Research for the new book required me to read old journals and revisit old memories that I'd rather soon forget. I've cried, prayed, praised, and eaten many bags of Smarts Sweets along the way. *Don't judge me.

As subscribers, you'll have the opportunity to order signed copies that will not be available anywhere else. COVID 19 has made this book launch unique. I'll send you a list of virtual events and activities to join me.

It seems fitting that the launch for TOYI ELIZABETH would be like no other because the book itself is unlike any book I've ever written. I sure hope you like it.

TOYI ELIZABETH launches April 14th.

Six Weeks Into "Grace"
My word for 2021 is “Grace.” This has been my best “one word” year ever because, well… it’s grace. I don’t have to do a whole lot with it. Such is the nature of grace. This is my year to just be. I suppose I could have chosen “be” for my one word but it doesn’t quite represent all that I needed. I could just “be lazy” or “be busy.” I could just “be patient” or “be content.” Be what? “Be” wasn’t the word I needed.

In the last few months of 2020, I wrestled to find my one word. The process was frustrating and fuzzy, and my word was out of focus. I knew exactly what I needed. I was sure of what I wanted, but I lacked clarity to name it appropriately. With my new book coming out, I wanted to be fruitful. I also needed to remain peaceful through the process. My “fruitful” is usually a frenzy of intensity. I’m a driver, a go-getter, as they say. After nine months of sparkling isolation, I’m not about that life anymore. The chaos of 2020 and reading Jordan Raynor’s MASTER OF ONE chilled me all the way out.
