Hello BBQ Lovers! 
Everyone make it through DreamCruise OK? I hope so!

The pertinent details for those in a hurry:

👍🏽RE BBQ will be OPEN on Friday, 8/26 from 3:00 until 7:00PM.


News from the back of the house:
I have all these great ideas for articles to write in this part of the newsletter during the week, but by the time I finally sit down to hammer out all these words, I'm so tired and distracted I can't remember any of 'em. 🤣🤣

So instead, I'll use this space to say THANK YOU to everyone for your continued enthusiasm for this little one man show on the corner by the tracks. All the folks circling the block for an hour before open each day, all the out of state visitors I only see once per year and everyone from all walks of life in between - I truly appreciate your willingness to wait in line through all kinds of weather and trade some of your hard earned money for my smokey cooking and in turn allow me to do this for a living all these years. I post it often on the socials, but it can never be stated too much: THANK YOU.


The big BBQ Trailer is (still) for sale! 
DO NOT PANIC! RE BBQ isn't going out of business and I'll continue to cook and serve the food you love as usual for the time being. Later on down the road, I'll do it a little less often and a little more specialized, because I'm keeping The BEAST (My smoker on wheels) and I own plenty of catering gear. 

Why the sale? Well as you know from frequent sell outs, business is good, I'm super proud of everything I've done and eternally grateful for all of your support, but I'm getting too old to keep up these 12 hour days, so I'd like to move this big aluminum kitchen on wheels to another fiery food service entrepreneur looking to grow their business the way I was able to.

BYOB is A-OK at RE BBQ: If Coke, Diet Coke or Water ain't your thing, you are welcome to bring your own beverages from Drifter, Urbanrest, 9 & Hilton Market, or where-ever you get your libations. There is a bucket for refundable bottles & cans next to the patio exit. Non-refundable containers go in the trash. 

Sorry, NO CATERING! 
I am deeply flattered that you would consider RE BBQ to provide food for your special event, but catering is not a service currently RE BBQ provides.  I hope your party goes great no matter who feeds it, though!

Enough of the restaurant administrivia, here is this week's eats!

The Menu for THURSDAY, 8/2522:
Thursday's SPECIAL:
Caribbean Pork Belly - Jerk rubbed pork belly, smoked, sliced and served with a side of red-red stewed (black eyed) peas and rice along with a tangy Caribbean inspired but not crazy spicy BBQ Sauce. 

Thursday's MEATS:
1/2 lb Sliced Mixed Sausages - Kielbasa, brautwurst, chorizo. tray.
1/2 lb Pulled Pork - dry rubbed, slow smoked pork shoulder. tray or sandwich.
1/2 lb Beef Brisket - dry rubbed, slow smoked brisket.  tray or sandwich.

Thursday's SIDES:
BBQ Beans - Red, White & Pinto beans, onions, bbq sauce.
Cheesy Taters - Cheese, roasted potatoes, more cheese, onions, cheese. 
Cheezits - You know what a cheezit is.
Kettle Chips - sea-salted kettle chips.


The Menu for FRIDAY, 8/26/22:
Friday's SPECIAL:
Frito Pie - Smoked beef brisket and chuck, pinto and kidney beans in a savory red chili, served over a bed of frito corn chips with onions, jalapenos, bell peppers and cilantro. Accessories include sour cream and a special BBQ sauce. 

Friday's MEATS:
1/2 lb Sliced Mixed Sausages - Kielbasa, brautwurst, chorizo. tray.

If there's something on the menu you cannot live without, show up at 3pm when the gates open and all the pans are full. RE BBQ tends to sell out of everything by closing time more often than not.

REminder: This is a one man operation. When there is a line, I take five orders, then box and bag those five orders before taking five more, lather, rinse, repeat.
