Christmas edition

Both the Blantyre and Hamilton projects all met at the Portwell project giving us enough time to prepare everything. Before shooting off to the Pinocchio Panto.
The staff made rolls and sausage and everyone had one each .We arrived at the arts centre in East Kilbride, and collected the tickets and gave us our ticket before we all headed in as a group. We were all instructed to sit in the café till the panto was ready to start. So we just talked among ourselves. Then the panto opened.
Everyone jumped up from off their chairs. Some were excited, some wanted it to be over with and the others didn’t show much emotion. But everyone was happy enough for the show to begin.
From start to finish everyone laughed. Some even sang along with the songs. Happy was the emotion, Smiles were the expression and Cheers were the gesture. The show was on for 2 hours and I kid you not that flew in, not one dull moment. It was quite the magical experience.
The Panto ended to the cheers and applauds from the audience. We all got up from our seats left the arts centre and returned to our projects. The quotes above are from the service users and youth worker who attended that night. (Written by Callum Arthur, Youth Support Worker)

We will be giving our service users a food hamper then an individual Christmas gift, for those we support in the community we will also give a food hamper.
There will be a Christmas Day buffet that all will be invited to and a fry up at service user request on boxing day, we’ll also try to get a wee games night/s day squeezed in too. (Renfrew PM, Jane Gordon)

A Christmas Story.....
Hi my name is George McBride, I’m a 17 years old and I stay in the blue triangle I’ve been in there 4 month. On Tuesday 20th we are going to Edinburgh for the project outing and we will be going for something to eat we will be visiting the Christmas market with two members of staff from the blue triangle. It will be a good day out of the project. I’ve made Christmas decorations in the office and the chill room. There is a Christmas tree up in the chill room I helped to put that up, the decorations in the office are paper chains and a merry Christmas poster and a penguin of the door of the office. This helped take the pain away from my mouth from when I had dental treatment the day before. I also put up a Christmas tree in my own flat in the lounge.
On Christmas eve I will be going out to collect my Christmas presents from my mum and stepdad house and also my grans present what will be up at my mums house so I will collect them and then take their presents up to them. Then I will come back to the blue triangle and then that will be me in that night. On Christmas day I will be staying in the blue triangle for my Christmas dinner and the Christmas music on laugh out loud, ‘’it will be a good laugh’’. Christmas evening I will be spending time with family member and then Christmas night I will be having a few drinks with friends. On the 29th of December I’m going to one of my friends to have a later Christmas dinner with him and his two sister and his dad and mum it will be good as I will meet his dad and his two sisters.
On the 31st of December it’s the bells I will be with this certain person during the day then I will be going up to my mums and stepdads with my friend Ryan and having a few drinks for the bells. It will be a good night with my mum and stepdad and my friend Ryan and walking back to the project at some point that night and then waking up to a big steak pie dinner made from Jane from the Kilmarnock project (project worker) and got permission from Jane. I have permission from Emma from the Kilmarnock project (project worker) she is also getting a picture beside my tree. She is one of the best Project worker.
My name is Adam Graham, I am 25 years old, the best Christmas I ever had was when I was 16years old.
I spent time with my friends family, we played games, had a joke and a laugh. We had a chicken dinner with carrots and gravy, all the trimmings except Brussel sprouts (I don’t like them). I got the Clubland 16 CD which my pals parents got me. I felt wanted that Xmas. I stayed there until just after the New Year, it’s a happy memory for me.
I have stayed at the BTHA Clydebank Project for 3 or 4 months, I was looking forward to being here for Xmas but I have now been given the good news that a temp unit has been allocated to me, I don’t know where yet but I’ll be in there for this Christmas. I will love being able to light my candles as I miss this and like my room to smell nice.
I will be coming to the Clydebank Project for Xmas day, and am looking forward to spending time with the guys there as they are like family to me. Also looking forward to having Chinese!!!

AUDIO BLOG - Barry, 37, Lanark talks about school talks and stereotypes
We have been very fortunate this year at Somerset and have fundraised approximately £1,656.00 -  this has been a mixture of donations from local companies, including Diesel Recon and we also had some staff fundraising activities. To add to this we have received some lovely donations of food and lots of Christmas gifts, some of which we'll share with other Project's.
We have also been told that we will be gifted with individual gift cards for service users and we're also waiting on a delivery of board games and an X-box ... again this has been a very generous donation.
Today service users and staff are off to Edinburgh for the day to enjoy the Christmas market ...maybe even have a shot on the big wheel before going for a slap up 3 course meal.
Best wishes form everyone at Somerset!
