The Twins Have Arrived!

Message From Cale

Talk about great change! Over the past few weeks, my family has been through a ton of change. Two new babies have grown our family from four to six. Micki and I couldn't be happier to have Henry and Juliana join our family, and Alexis and Ellie are obsessed with them as well.

We are even more excited as we start to work into a routine (I'm writing this in between both of them eating!). Micki has started ordering groceries online and having us pick them up, which has been amazing, and Amazon Prime has become one of our newest friends!  Reading books and talking to people who have had twins can hardly prepare you for the reality of it all. I've served three tours in Iraq, and I'm not sure I've been as tired as I have been after certain nights when they just don't want to sleep.  It is a real blessing to have the support from Micki and the help from Alexis and Ellie, as well as help from so many family and friends.

This summer has been a hot one!  Today we took the twins to the pool for the first time. They didn't do much other than fall asleep on a pool chair in the shade!  Ellie is a water kid and has always loved being in the pool or any body of water, while Alexis is most normally focused on deepening her tan and trying to get as tan as her dad!  As many of you know - especially if you've had twins or even kids close together - getting out of the house to do anything can be quite a task.  We are discovering just how critical it is to plan for anything, extra clothes, many extra diapers and really just extra everything!  It is just the beginning of figuring it out, and I'm glad we get to do it during the summer, so that we can get them used to being outside. They sure seem to enjoy it so far!

I hope that this doesn't sound like gibberish to too many people; it is late, and my brain is probably working well below expected levels.  I look forward to sharing more about all the changes that the two new blessings are bringing to our lives. Take care and God bless!

The decision to add a new addition to your home will change your life. It’s a huge commitment of both time and money and can bring about many challenges and pitfalls. While it often requires more energy than intended, with the right vision and effort, the results are truly miraculous.

No one understands this better than Cale and Micki Kliethermes, who welcomed two of their very own little miracles—twins Henry and Juliana—on June 8. Along with their daughters Alexis and Ellie, the clan of six is enjoying life with their happy and healthy new family members.
