SARG news
How is everyone handling their stay at home orders? SARG is weathering this coronavirus storm. We and our adoptable animals are staying healthy and we are still doing adoptions and all our community outreach is continuing. The free spay and neuter clinic is going on every month with a few modifications to allow for social distancing, face masks, and gloves. People are filling out the paperwork in their cars and are given staggered drop off and pick up times. The low income senior pet food distribution is continuing as well. All the volunteers are using masks and gloves and the seniors are following a drive through process which allows proper social distance for safety. We love giving to our seniors, but we don't want to put them at more risk than they are already. We are also continuing our donations of pet food to St. Mary's food pantry. In this time where so many are losing their jobs, SARG is also now partnering with The Houndry to help low income families feed their pets. We need to pull together as a community and that means we help where and when we can. Please be safe and stay healthy.

At the present time SARG is planning for the Paws for Life Gala to be held on August 14th. I hope we are all able to celebrate the end of the coronavirus woes and we will move into the new era of the world with gusto.

I also wanted to mention we have many sponsors for our Paws for Life Gala. Usually that is held in the middle of April, but unfortunately it has to be postponed until Aug 14th. But I did not want to wait to start saying thank you to those people and businesses that have so generously donated through sponsorship of this amazing event. When we are closer to the event all of our sponsors will be listed here. Until then you can see all of our sponsors and auction items at the link below.Thank you for your continued support!

Rainbow Bridge
The Poore Family, Mike, Sharon & Jeff, lost their precious dog, Mex just two days after he had back surgery.  “Since we adopted him in May of 2013 he has been a comforting companion to all 3 of us.  He loved each of us with abandon and he grew more & more precious to us in our hearts.  We are devastated at his loss.  We want to thank SARG for making the adoption possible.  We also want to thank you for the work you do every day that saves so many animals and brings joy to other families."

Katie, a sweet older Boston Terrier, came to live with Shirley & Ron Auble as a SARG permanent foster dog in February of 2019. After 14 months of the best life an old dog could have, she crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 11. She was with them only a short time but she made her mark & is missed every day.

SARG Working from Home
Just like everyone else, SARG members are doing some work from home and their pets are loving it! I thought I'd share some of our pictures with everyone.
Tina has been working from home for the month and her animals love the extra mom time! Molly  shared her pooches and kitty with us.
Linda has been spending some quality time with her lovely pooch Wendy.
My foster kitten Teddy is hanging out with my college student who is studying from home now. They both love it!
Adopter News

To put a smile on your face and happiness in your heart, here’s the message I got from Rosemary’s adopter. RoseMary Update: It will soon be 3 months since RoseMary joined our family. She has become a beloved family member. She gets up with dad, eats breakfast and goes to work with him; working from home. She likes to watch TV with him. She and Punky have become big buddies. They play hard and nap harder. He will chase her down the hall and she will chase him back up the hall. They share their toys, often batting them to each other. They are so entertaining and such a joy to watch as we practice social distancing.

Ruthie adopted 3 kittens from us this winter, Ivan, Cameron, and Butters. Her dog Gabbie couldn't be happier. She loves to snuggle with them and they seem to like it too.
Sahara is getting the royal treatment from her family...they are now buying her special furniture. She loves her new chair-bed! She just looks so comfy!
