Happy New Year everyone! Here is to an amazing 2021! Even though 2020 was a difficult year, many of the shelters and rescue groups have been very lucky to have had a record number of adoptions. It is so heart warming to see the lucky pups and kitties going to forever homes. When we have to social distance we can always hug our pets. They give us unconditional love and every day I'm grateful for their companionship.
Good news for SARG: we are having a spring yard sale! The dates are yet to be determined, but should be sometime in April or May. We are currently taking all donations for our spring sale. So during your spring cleaning, if you find anything you would like to donate, we would be happy to take it off your hands. Please contact us any time at 865-483-8146 or 865-659-6155 to arrange drop off. You can also email SARG at firstname.lastname@example.org

Piglet, beloved Pug of Sara Melton, recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Sara had always been a large-dog person until she fell in love with Piglet at a Pet Blessing event several years ago. Piglet even passed the one “test” Sara posed—she had to be able to swim in Sara’s large backyard pool. Piglet swam her way into Sara’s heart. Her legacy may be that Sara would adopt another Pug in a heartbeat.
Cookie, a SARG permanent foster Chihuahua, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 1/14/21. When SARG rescued Cookie from the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter, a vet exam showed that she had several major health problems, including cancer. She spent her last days living with fosters Pat and Rick O’Connor, who gave Cookie what were the best days of her life.
