SARG news
It's Yard Sale time!!!
SARG will be having their yard sale on April 15,16, 17; April 22, 23,24; May 6,7,8; and May 13,14,15. Each day hours will be 9-1.  We are of course still taking donations. As many of you know, each week we put out more and more items. SARG has many generous donors and we are always so thankful to have a store full of great bargains.

This year it is even more important that we have a successful sale as we are unable, at the present time, to hold our annual Paws for Life Gala. We are hopeful to restart that in the fall, and as soon as we know
about those dates we will pass the word around. For now our yard sale is our biggest fund raiser for all the outreach SARG does. We have been fortunate not to have to stop any of our community programs such as the pet food  for seniors, the pet food banks, the monthly free spay/neuter clinics and the rescuing and rehabilitation of our furry friends in need of a second chance.  This is all due to the generosity of all those that support SARG. My heartfelt thanks goes out to each and every one of you.

Don't forget that Dean's Restaurant is reopening on Thursday April 1st. All of their meals are 1/2 price and they are donating their proceeds for the day to SARG!!! We are all so excited and can't wait to see everyone there.

Now if we can just get some of this rain to stop!! Mud season is upon us and the pooches need their paws cleaned off...again!  by: Jennifer Robinson

A special shout out to Mr. John Mullens for the use of his building for our annual yard sale and for allowing us to store our yard sale equipment at that location! We couldn't have this event with out his support. 👏🏼

On September 26, 2015, a hound named Oliver came to Cindy and Bob Biscay.  He and his mother and two brothers were found wandering in a field off a back-country road.  Oliver was about six weeks at that time.  His brothers and mother got good adoptive homes, but Oliver stole Cindy's heart, and he never left the Biscays.  Sadly, they lost Oliver on March 17.  He had a wonderful life with Cindy and Bob, and they are heartbroken to lose their boy.
Peaches was a sweet, loving ginger tabby, about 8 years old.  SARG found him at the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter, and decided to take him into the SARG program in spite of his status of FIV.  Many cats do well in spite of that diagnosis, and we just thought he was such a great cat--as did the Shelter staff.  Once we had him in a foster home, we realized that he had diabetes and began treating him for that.  Unfortunately our vets never could get it under control--he had huge, almost unheard of, swings in his blood sugar.  A couple of times his sugar was so high it was off the measurement chart.  Eventually he also developed ketoacidosis, a serious complication of diabetes.  We had to let him go.  We gave this little street cat several weeks in a home where he was loved and cuddled.  In turn, he snuggled and purred his way through his days.  We miss him.

In memory of Jack, much loved and greatly missed by big brother Noah and mom Marilyn.  He greeted each day with excitement about the day's walk--the new people and dogs he'd get to meet, or maybe just old familiar friends who looked forward to seeing him, too. Although small in stature, in his mind he was large and in charge, just ask those pesky squirrels in the back yard.  Snack time and family time just aren't the same without this sweet boy. You brought joy to those who knew you Jack.
