News from Greater New Orleans Water Collaborative

It's November, which means WATERFRONT 2016 is underway!  Our second annual event series kicked off with a very popular boat tour of the city's working waterfront. Thank you to the Port of New Orleans! 

Over the weekend, Water Collaborative members and partners, including WaterWise Nola, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, City of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish spearheaded education in Treme, volunteering in Gentilly and a recycling drive in Gretna
. Keep reading for more opportunities to learn, explore and get involved.

Technical Master Classes begin Dec. 8

Greater New Orleans Foundation and the City of New Orleans kick off their 2016-17 Urban Water Series on Dec. 8, 5:30 p.m., with a free public lecture by Danish architect Flemming Rafn Thomsen. The next day, Thomsen will take part in a daylong technical master class for designers and planners on Urban Climate Change Solutions. 
Election Day? ... Not Again!
On Dec. 10, New Orleans residents will go back to the polls to vote on two millage renewals, including one to fund drainage operations. Thank you to the Sewerage and Water Board for briefing our Research and Policy Working Group on the issue. Make sure you are informed with their FAQ and Fact Sheet

Need help getting a great idea off the ground?

The team at Eskew+Dumez + Ripple are looking for community projects in need of design assistance. The firm will provide design services focused on productive public spaces that include green infrastructure as part of it's annual MLK Day of Service. View the RFP and application.
Congratulations, Urban Heroes
