Queen Cells & Swarm Season

SWARM SEASON
Although it may not seem like it with this prolonged start to spring, swarm season is almost upon us. May and June traditionally tend to be the months when our bees swarm in Scotland. So if you're new to beekeeping or worried you don't know what to do, or how to get prepared, then worry not, Alan Riach, our Education Officer, has kindly compiled some notes which may help. To view or download these please click here.
Alan has also created a video on 'How to Prevent Your Honeybees From Swarming' which is a great visual aid to your swarm season preparations. To view this click here or on the image above.
If you have any queries or concerns please contact your local beekeeping association or mentor in the first instance, or you can reply to this email.
Good luck and remember...keep calm!
