Our Tree Pit Gardening Session last Wednesday, 29th January was both enjoyable and productive. Dedicated volunteers Eleanor, Luca and Colette joined with PSBL Green Spaces Community Worker Milena on a lovely, sunny winter day to weed, plant and spruce the six adopted Tree Pits in Tunmarsh Lane. Early spring bulbs (daffodils, anemones, hyacinths, irises and saffron) are already in full bloom, whilst the glorious marigold defied the cold and bloomed throughout the winter months!
We would like to thank 'Simons' on Barking Rd for donating compost, as well as to resident Colette contributing to the 'Tree Pit Fund' with her generous cash donation. We hope many more will follow suit, and are currently applying for funds to keep this budding community project going. If you would like to contribute in any way, please text or e-mail Milena on 07388-406-499 or email@example.com.'
PYM @NewVIc open day!
We had a lovely time on Saturday the 25th as part of the NewVIc open day. With 22 traders, we had one of our best variety of items to date. Adi, selling traditional African food, and Amy selling unique gifts, traded with us after a long break and we are so happy to have them part of our team again. Peter had one of his best days drawing caricatures. Overall, it was a productive day and we are so grateful to work with NewVIc.
