Hope everyone is keeping safe & well.
We have been overwhelmed with the kindness unfolding in the community around us this week. It was wonderful to see so many streets clapping in celebration of the incredible work being done by NHS staff and the rainbow drawings displayed in windows.
Plaistow Primary School are asking for local children to draw beautiful, colourful & cheerful pictures and to e-mail them to Rainbows4nhs@hotmail.com so that NHS Nightingale at Exel can use them to decorate the wards.
More Plaistow businesses doing their bit - Litter Biker Boyz
Lets say a Big Thank You to LITTLE BIKER BOYZ of 584 Barking road, Plaistow, E13 9JU who are currently offering FREE inner tubes & brakes fitted for NHS staff (ID's must be shown) who are cycling to work.
Hope you enjoy this original poem by our very own Green Spaces community worker, Milena
Hoaxes and hysteria spread faster than bacteria,
Government not sorry for increasing our worry.
Roads are empty, withdrawal is clear
We're fighting the enemy we can't see or hear.
Amidst the panic, there rises the spirit -
Listen, care, reach out - and you will stay with it.
Now is the time to focus on small -
Petals on a cherry blossom, cat toying with a ball.
Told to stay in, make a cup of tea
And contemplate slower, mindful reality.

Financial telephone support from Money A & E
‘We are pleased to help fund Money A&E who are continuing to support our community with financial advice during this time of difficulty.

Please be aware that demand for the service is unpredictable at this time, and wait times for an appointment are therefore uncertain. We are grateful for your patience and understanding.
And lastly.... thankfully we can still enjoy nature while in isolation
You can sit at home and watch an Osprey's bird nest in the Scottish Highlands!.... The Woodland Trust has been streaming footage of breeding ospreys from Loch Arkaig Pine Forest since 2017. The nest is still empty but the birds are expected to arrive sometime this coming weekend. Then you can watch them, the eggs, the baby chicks etc! Fabulous opportunity during our Lockdown. https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/trees-woods-and-wildlife/osprey-cam/
There are many blackbirds in Plaistow South and with less cars we can hear their song better.... if you are not sure what the blackbird song sounds like, or do not have one near your home then try this link to hear the beautiful song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH9_b5n8pjA
