Heartwarming - more residents are creating mini gardens in tree pits
Following our call last week for volunteers to help with watering the Tunmarsh Lane Tree Pit gardens watering, we now have an established rota for watering three times a week. Residents are donating plants, and many people stopping by to admire the mini gardens. The good vibe is spreading, with Clare in Patrick Rd adopting two small tree pits outside her house. Three more mini gardens have sprung up this week! Read more about it on our latest blog.

Beginners guide to foraging with recipes
Foraging is the act of gathering wild food for free. Although it's gained far greater popularity in recent years, for our distant ancestors foraging would simply have been a way of life – a necessity in fact. One of the most enjoyable things about foraging is the way it compels a greater awareness of one's surroundings – the need to slow down, pause and look. So why not check out this BBC Beginners Guide and discover the joy of getting food whilst having a walk in nature-you will be able to find most of the plants locally. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/foraging
Sunflowers must be planted by June - can we create a big display in Plaistow South?
We have so far given out 12 sunflower seed packs to local residents, and hope to give out more. We would love it if this summer South Plaistow explodes with sunflower blooms in people's front gardens, to symbolise hope, solidarity and togetherness. Can you help? Send your name and address to Green Spaces Community Worker Milena on 07388406-499, and she will drop of a few sunflower seeds for you to grow through your letterbox.
