Bon Voyage Milena!
Milena Rouse our Green Space worker is moving away from the area. We are sad to be losing a long-standing staff member and would like to thank Milena for her passion and contribution to PSBL. She has worked on many projects and is best known for the tree pits project in Tunmarsh Land and Humberstone Road. We are hoping that this neighbour initiative can expand to other roads in Plaistow South. Interested? Do get in touch.
Thank you to the Green Gym volunteers for hosting Milena’s leaving do on the Greenway Orchard. On behalf of PSBL we wish you all the very best in your future endeavors, Milena!
Mindfulness is on Zoom on Mondays and Thursdays, hopefully more outdoor sessions soon
Our four Mindful Mondays in July on the Greenway Orchard were a success! They were hosted by the Green Gym volunteers and facilitated by Urban Mindfulness Foundation. It was an opportunity to notice nature using all our senses including mindfully eating white currants. We hope to try this again, and to include children.
In the meantime, why not join our Zoom half hour at 12.30 on Mondays and Thursdays during the School holidays? Pretty amazing results guaranteed when you need to recharge your batteries, be refreshed or perhaps slow the pace a little! Zoom: www.bit.ly/zoom-mindful / ID: 91280756448 / Password: 032826. Barefoot Challenge for Newham Neighbours in Need
This summer Mentesnot Mengesha will be walking 100 miles Barefoot in Newham’s parks & streets to raise money for neighbours in need. In June, more than 80 adults & children came together to wish Mentesnot well as he took the first step in this epic journey of kindness. All money will go to Bonny Downs Community Association to help them make a difference – to support their foodbank to help low-income families. £15 would allow them to provide an emergency food parcel for a family or a new pair of shoes for a child in need. We wish Mentesnot the very best! To donate visit bonnydowns.org/barefoot.
