How do I maintain my mental health in Lockdown? How about a self-soothe box?

The coronavirus pandemic is a difficult and uncertain time for everyone. We can no longer take for granted some of the things we used to do to look after our physical and mental wellbeing, like meeting a group of friends or going to the cinema to shake off the blues. Along with other elements of our routines, we might have had to shake up, adjust or rethink some of our self-care techniques and rituals as we adjust to self-isolation and social distancing.
Have a read of this BBC article on what Young Minds suggest in terms of a self soothe box https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zfy3382

The Urban Tree Festival this weekend
This festival has created an online platform featuring an array of activities and tours to connect us with the trees, those silent witnesses of urban progress. Do a daily tree meditation, decorate your window in tree-themed ornaments, learn to distinguish different type of trees, take a virtual-or an actual- tour, or read a piece of writing about trees. The whole week’s listing can be found on https://urbantreefestival.org/programme-at-a-glance

Origami heart - a free tutorial

That special someone can be a spouse, a sibling, your parents, or a good friend, whomever it may be, they'll be happy that you spent a little time and effort on them. Making a small paper shape and immersing yourself in the craft will also aid your feeling of peace and add to your exploration of creative mediums to express yourself. https://www.origamiway.com/origami-heart.shtml

Send your name and address to Green Spaces Community Worker Milena on 07388 406-499 /milena@plaistowsouthbiglocal.org.uk, and she will post a few sunflower seeds through your door for you to grow.
