Emmanuel's Common Table ministry, involving Christian formation over a meal, began among our 20s-30s parishioners about 4 years ago. In this new season, I'm excited about the vision of expanding Common Table to an all-ages gathering -- beginning with a pilot event in the Great Hall next week, and then resuming meals hosted in homes, with discussion that helps us grow in our overall goals of deeper Christian belonging at Emmanuel and clearer knowledge of Christian truth at Emmanuel. Join us at 5:30 (or for Evening Prayer at 5:15), bring something to share, and come ready to talk about what being the Body of Christ together looks like.
This Week's Highlights
Emmanuel is still expanding our intergenerational formation opportunities. On Thursday February 17th at 5:30 p.m., we invite each and every one of you to bring a dish to share and to come eat a meal together in the Great Hall. This pilot of an all ages “Common Table 2.0” is an opportunity not only to get to know one another but also to think about what it might look like to be a member of the Body of Christ in 2022.  Evening Prayer takes place at 5:15 and you are welcome to participate before the meal.

Not only is changing our seasonal décor a ministry done to the glory of God, it is accessible to nearly everyone. This year the sacred task of preparing the church for Lent will be done by small groups working at different times from Sunday, February 27 through Tuesday, March 2. Let Deacon Chris know if you are available to assist, and you will be contacted by a member of the liturgical environment team with more details.

The flowers that adorn the Altar each week to the Glory of God are completely funded by members and friends of Emmanuel.  If you would like to give flowers in memory of someone or in thanksgiving for a blessing, please contact Mary in the office to choose your preferred date. Many dates are open in 2022.

Pub Theology is tonight at 7 p.m. We'll meet inside the Blind Pig Brewery in downtown Champaign and end around 8:30. We'll be studying Luke chapters 13-15. Get in touch with Marisa if you have any questions!

Sunday 9 a.m.
Wednesday 12:15 p.m.

Weekdays 8 a.m. & 5:15 p.m.

Parish Calendar

IN A PASTORAL EMERGENCY - If you or a family member are in the hospital or have another personal emergency, please let the clergy know; they are ready to visit or assist. If the office is closed, please leave the information (including which hospital) in one of their personal office voicemail boxes or on a home phone. Emmanuel can also arrange to have meals provided; just ask!
Emmanuel's ministry staff seek health for both themselves and the parish culture by taking regular time off. MOTHER BETH is off on Fridays. MARISA CROFTS is off on Mondays. DEACON CHRIS is in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Voice mail may be left in their boxes at any time.
The church office is open 9-12 weekday mornings, as well as by appointment. Our staff continue fulfilling their ministry responsibilities all day, including actively responding to email and phone messages.
