Support Our Nonprofit This Holiday and Remember Us in Your Year-End Giving
With the end of the year less than three weeks away, many people have turned their minds toward ways to give back this holiday season and places to contribute their year-end tax-deductible gifts.
We invite those interested in supporting our nonprofit's work to make a tax-deductible donation to us through Mountain Xpress' annual Give!Local year-end fundraising drive. We receive 100 percent of all donations made to us through that campaign, and are also offering special incentives to donors.
Make your 2017 tax-deductible donation to Green Built Alliance via Give!Local.
Green Building: It's Not What They Say, It's What They Want
Suzanne Shelton of sustainability-focused marketing organization Shelton Group shares her reflections on last month's Greenbuild International Conference and Expo.
"When I talk to builders and architects, I hear the standard refrain: consumers aren’t asking for it. ... The reality is, Americans do want greener homes. They just don’t call them that. In fact, if you created a profile of the person in the market for a new home and put it alongside a profile of the person who’s already bought a certified green or energy-efficient home, you’d see that those two profiles are almost identical."

After months of research and planning, we're excited to be recruiting for two new positions joining our nonprofit's staff to help promote and implement the strategies developed by the Energy Innoivation Task Force.
Volunteer Opportunity:
Lend a Hand to Our Energy Savers Network Program
Green Built Alliance recently became the fiscal sponsors of the new Energy Savers Network initiative, which was founded with a dual mission of helping people and helping the climate.
Energy Savers Network works toward that mission by leveraging a network of volunteers to provide free energy-efficiency and weatherization services to limited-income homes in Western North Carolina.
