A balanced development of all our parts = a balanced self
Welcome to our monthly newsletter, Stepping Stones. Here, we talk about the science and knowledge behind our teaching philosophy, and update you with news, upcoming activities and more. We hope you like it!
At Integral Steps we find ways to integrate our mind, body, emotions and five senses into all of our activities, creating experiences that strive to support our balanced development.
*A balanced development of all our parts = a balanced self *
A balanced self is more capable of working with precision and efficiency toward an aim, finding inner creativity more easily as
well as access to an increased number of self-regulatory skills. Now that the school year is over, you can create a weekly schedule to keep track of how you/your children are engaging in activities in a balanced way. The end goal? To create an intentional space to attend to and nurture each part of ourselves. For this:
Create a weekly schedule to keep track of how you are/your children are engaging in activities in a balanced way.
How to create a weekly integrated schedule?

Make a list: What activities engage each part of the self (in me and/or my children?)
Choose at least two different senses you will engage with while working on your chosen focus part of self (seeing, smelling, sensing, tasting, listening)
Build an intentional schedule: What is your goal for this coming week?
Here’s an example of a parent’s integrated weekly calendar:

We strongly believe in the power of words and books to ignite creativity, accompany us throughout our lives and transform communities. That’s why we are THRILLED to sponsor the Louisville Colorado Library in the Louisville Summer Reading Program and encourage everyone, young and older, to pick up a book and read this summer!
