School Value for Term 4
Whakaute/Respect

Kia ora koutou,
With many parts of Europe going back into lockdown it was very pleasing to see our junior school holding their annual athletics meeting without any of the restrictions of COVID.  We had a great turnout of parents and my thanks to everyone who supported their tamariki. Well done to all the children and to the junior teachers for a very enjoyable and smooth running day.

Some of our senior students visited the Howick historical village this week as part of their concept 'Past, Present and Future'. By all accounts, it was very well received and enjoyed by all. Feedback was that they could have stayed a bit longer which is always a good sign for any excursion. Thank you to everyone who went along to support the teachers and students.

Children leaving school early
Regular and full attendance is one of the most effective things you can do for your child's education and we would encourage you to make appointments and schedule out-of-school activities so as to allow your child to be at school for the full school day. Every instance of a child leaving early is an interruption not only to them but to their whole class and sometimes to the whole school if that child is not in their classroom. We would ask that you aim to minimise the instances where children need to be taken out of school during the day.

HUGE thank you to our fabulous PTA for supporting the Games and Puzzles Lunchtime Club.

Every Wednesday lunchtime we have 50-70 students playing board games and puzzles in the hall. This is a great time for socialising, learning new skills and having fun. Thanks to the PTA,  we have 24 new games to play and 4 fabulous bins to transport them.   There is a regular group of students that attend and it is always great to see new students come and join in.

A big thank you to Kayden Tamihana and Lucas Sanders for being responsible, reliable helpers who set up and pack up games, along with teaching students how to play them.
