School Value for Term 3
Mana Whakahaere/Responsibility
Kia ora Whanau,
It was great to see the return of all our students after the holidays.  A  warm welcome back to Ms Singh who has started our 7th new entrant class. A special welcome to all our new students and families as they begin their learning journey at our school.

The long-awaited refurbishment of rooms 5-8 started during the holidays. The temporary classrooms in the hall are up and running and are working well. There will be a period of adjustment for some children and parents of children in those classes are invited to visit the hall and have a look around at the learning space. Thank you to the teachers for making their temporary classrooms look so inviting.

Final planning and preparations for the Tongariro Camp are well underway and we wish the year 5s and 6s all the very best when they head off to Carey Park on the 10th of August for part of the team and the 17th of August for the rest of the team. Thank you once again to the teachers for all the organisation and to those parents who will be supporting the teachers and children on Camp.

Please be reminded that we will be holding a Teacher Only day next week on the 7th of August, so children will not need to be at school.

Kind regards,

Gary Pasfield

Thank you to everyone who supported the PTA’s Popcorn Fundraiser - we hope you all enjoyed some yummy Popcorn over the holidays.
Now that Term 3 is well underway it's all about Ag Day! The PTA are seeking donations of items that can be used for game prizes – think soft toys, kids games, sports equipment, arts and craft packs – plus items that can be sold on the day such as potted plants and second hand cookbooks. So if you have anything suitable please consider donating these items to the PTA.  A drop box will be located in the school office during Term 3 to collect items for Ag Day.
Last year the PTA were lucky enough to receive donations/sponsorship from a number of local businesses, which enabled the purchase of specific prizes for the day e.g. the prizes for the Gumboot Throw. Once again the PTA needs to source a small number of major prizes. If you or your business is in a position to support this event through donations, sponsorship or items for prizes, we would love to hear from you, just email .
The next meeting of the PTA will be Monday 10 August at 9am in the staffroom, all welcome.

Community Notices
Please remember that you must stop at a pedestrian crossing if a person is waiting to cross (this applies whether there is a road patrol on or not) and please park so that the pedestrian crossing is clearly visible for everyone.
We have a few Cayuga ducks we can sell. We would like to give them to a good family who is willing to give them a long and happy life. We have 3 we need to sell if anyone wants some. 2 drakes and 1 duck their names are Monty(the duck), python and jumpy.
They are tame and cannot fly. Perfect for the garden as they do not scratch (unlike chicken) but catch bugs and snails.
$60 for the three or $25 each.

This is a term long course for children aged 6 - 13 that teaches visual arts skills and encourages creative thinking.
