Happy Hour for Canadians at ASA
Will you attend the American Sociological Association meetings in New York City? Do you feel like a small Canadian fish in a giant sea of Americans? Don’t you wish there was an easy way to enjoy some social time with all your Canadian colleagues? Well, this year there will be. Announcing:
Sunday, August 11
The Irish Pub
837 7th Ave, between 53rd and 54th
hosted by CSA President, Tina Fetner
The Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) will provide a few snacks, and you can purchase your own beverages. Tenured faculty members might make polite offers to buy a beverage for a graduate student or sessional instructor—you know that will be greatly appreciated. It will be lovely to see old friends and make new ones.
Who is invited? Canadian sociologists, broadly defined. Do you work or study at a Canadian institution? You are invited! Are you a Canadian who works or studies at a US institution? You are also invited! Have you ever operated a garburator, sat on a chesterfield, or worn a bunnyhug? Then of course you are invited. I look forward to seeing you there.
With warm regards,
President, Canadian Sociological Association
