Last Minute Availability for the Vanderbilt Weekend & Mountain Music Programs!

Celebrate your weekend with Gilded Age food, drink and history!  Throughout history as the Vanderbilt's wilderness retreat, Sagamore was known as a place where guests could enjoy the beauty of the region and have all the comforts of home. Come for this weekend of fine dining and explore the history of America's Gilded Age in one of the most authentic locations possible while enjoying camp activities.

Our weekend includes a wine pairing for Saturday evening's dinner, and our chefs will prepare special meals based on historical research.  Staff will lead tours of the camp, as well as nature walks to enjoy the beauty of an autumn weekend at Sagamore!

Some of the featured meals of the weekend are:

  • Friday night Workers Feast at the Barn in the Upper Complex with local beer and ciders and seasonal specialties.
  • Wine pairing dinner on Saturday night with Baked Cedar Planked Salmon and Poussin over Wild Rice.
  • Traditional Adirondack Sunday breakfast with blueberry pancakes, smoked bacon and eggs.

Mountain Music Weekend!

Sagamore old-timers know that Mountain Music fills up very quickly each year. Because of some last minute cancellations we have a few openings for this very popular program. If you have ever wanted to attend this program, this may be your opportunity!

Mountain Music is a program where you will sing, write your own songs, fiddle, or play the guitar, dulcimer, mandolin, or penny whistle.  Sign up for courses on an instruction grid that allows you to focus on one instrument or to develop skills on several instruments.

Featuring some of the best folk musicians in the Adirondacks, learn from the likes of Dan Berggren, Dick and Carmen Gilman, Peggy LynnDan DugganJohn Kirk, Trish Miller and Kent and Nannette Knappenberger.  This is a weekend of song, music and laughter while learning and playing with some of the best folk musicians in the Adirondacks, and in the business.

Faculty recommends this course for everyone from beginners (including children), through those trying to pick up an instrument again, to accomplished amateurs wanting to polish their talents.
