Happy New Bike Year!!

Draft Massachusetts Bicycle Plan
MassDOT has released a draft bicycle transportation plan. They are accepting comments until Jan 31. It’s really encouraging to see this and it represents a good start. Let’s make it better! If you can draft a thoughtful response to the draft!

Beacon St Update
Well, it's now January and we are still waiting on our contractors to paint bike lanes on Beacon St between Washington Street and Inman Square and to fix a low lying part of the cycle track near RF O'Sullivans. Cambridge just painted bike lanes at the end of December in Porter Square setting a new record for the latest date that bike facilities were added in a calendar year. If we paint the Beacon St lanes we can set the record for the earliest date!!

Support your local bicycle advocacy organizations
The New year is always a great time to donate to charities, including all the amazing bicycle advocacy groups who work hard for bicyclists everyday. Please consider donating to Bikes Not Bombs, Boston Cyclists Union, Livable Streets Alliance, or MassBike, or all of the above!

Truck Safety Video- updated link
The link we provided last month to the Safe Trucking in Changing Cities is dead. Here's an updated link. Please watch the video for your own edification and let us know if you have any contacts in the trucking industry- we want this to be seen by as many truck drivers as possible.
