Professional Development Survey
In the NSAA's new operational plan, "Designing our Future 2015-2020", and during Spring Forum 2016, Professional Development opportunities in areas such as project management and business practice were suggested as proposed activities by you, our members.

In repsonse, the Professional Development and Continuing Education Subcommittee has designed the following survey to provide feedback on what you would like the NSAA to focus efforts on when developing and offering Professional Development and Continuing Education activities.

Please complete the following survey to provide directional input to the subcommittee by July 15th. All feedback will be kept confidential. We thank you in advance for your participation.

Callout for Window Display Submissions

Our Barrington Street windows have been getting a lot of attention since the addition of architectural displays by our members, and it is time to refresh and show off more amazing material by our members. Deadline for expressions of interest to submit is July 13th, 2016. Selection will be made my random draw to starts a 6-week display on July 15th. Click here for more information.

BENCHmark 2016: Call for Proposals

Presented by StorefrontMB in partnership with the Winnipeg Trails Association, the “BENCHmark” trails-based placemaking and design competition launches, offering Winnipeggers a place to rest while enjoying our growing trail network. Designers are invited to submit proposals for the design of a permanent bench along the Bishop Grandin Trail - Winnipeg’s longest multi-use trail. We are looking for designers to help us make / celebrate places that embody physical literacy, add refinement to the art of traveling and provides a place to sit, read, discuss and exchange.
Deadline to submit proposals is July 6th.

Maison&Object Americas Fair and The Miami Experience

MAISON&OBJET AMERICAS returned to Miami for its second year with a growing following and budding design happenings surrounding it across the city. Exciting new talents and brands from Europe, North and Latin America were infused at the fair and around the city. The Buildings Show
November 30th - December 2nd

The Buildings Show is home to Construct Canada, PM Expo, HomeBuilder & Renovator Expo, World of Concrete Pavilion, and IIDEXCanada, and together they create the largest North American exposition for the entire industry. More than 30,000 trade professionals attend the show annually to source the latest tools, products, solutions and technologies from more than 1,600 Canadian and international exhibitors. The Show also features an Innovation Demo Centre, where attendees can watch 30 minute demonstrations on leading-edge technological solutions, state-of-the-art products, and modern green practices on the Show floor. ExAC Registration Now Open

Examinations for Architects in Canada (ExAC) registration is now officially open.

Click here for registration information.
  • Registration deadline is exactly 12pm on July 15th. No registrations will be accepted after this time.
  • The deadline to submit experience with your ExAC registration is June 30th.
    Any experience received after this time will be reviewed, but cannot be reviewed in time to be counted toward the experience required to register for the ExACs.
  • An Intern Architect must have accumulated a minimum of 2,800 hours of experience through CERB’s to be eligible to register for the ExACs.

CBC Casting for "Canada's Smartest Person"

CBC is currently casting for its prime-time tv-show, "Canada's Smartest Person".
The focus of this series is to show the country that there is a lot more to intelligence than simply being a math whiz or a trivia buff or having a high IQ score. Heading into its third season, the Casting Team is searching for Canadians who are ready to put their smarts to the ultimate test! Between Season 1 and Season 2, the show has featured some incredibly intelligent and inspiring Canadians from all walks of life: an Olympian, the youngest surgeon in Atlantic Canada, a firefighter, a stay-at-home mom, a truck driver, a novelist, a radio host, an artist, a grad student, and even a cheese salesman!  NSAA members are encouraged to apply or nominate a colleague to be the next "Canada's Smartest Person"!
