Upcoming Council Vacancies - Call for Expressions of Interest

At the Spring 2016 Annual General Meeting (date has yet to be determined), there will be elections to fill the position of President (two-year term) and 3 Councillor vacancies (two-year terms). The process for the appointment of a Public Representative on Council will also soon be underway.

As per Section 6 (3) of the Architects Act, only those members who are licensed architects and have served on Council for at least one year are eligible to run for President.

As per the NSAA’s new strategic plan and Section 7 of the Architects Act, those licensed architects wishing to serve on Council will be expected to fill one of the following roles that will be decided by the new Council at its first meeting after the AGM as the NSAA transitions to a new governance structure to support its strategic plan that was approved at last year’s AGM. Those positions include
  • Vice-President;
  • Secretary-Treasurer;
  • Registrar;
  • Chair of Practice Services Standing Committee;
  • Chair of Membership Standing Committee; and
