Dear friends,
Please let us know if you are coming to Geneva for the United Nations Open Ended Working Group (OEWG) - which is holding its first sessions at the Palais des Nations in Geneva from February 22-26. Additional sessions will be held on May 2-4, May 9-13 and over three days in the week of August 22.

The OEWG is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to undertake substantive work on legal measures and norms to achieve a nuclear-weapon-free world, and to make recommendations on measures to reduce the risks of accidental, mistaken, unauthorized or intentional nuclear weapon detonations.

The OEWG is open to all member States of the United Nations and to representatives of civil society.

Registrations to attend should be sent to the OEWG Secretariat as soon as possible. Contact oewg-ndn@unog.ch.

Building global support for the OEWG

UNFOLD ZERO is building support from around the world for the OEWG through endorsements of A Nuclear-Weapon-Free World Our Common Good (also available in Arabic, French , German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish).

We will present the statement to the OEWG during its first session. Please encourage your mayor, parliamentarians and/or religious leaders to endorse. See OEWG – Has your legislator and/or religious leader endorsed the nuclear abolition statement?
