We invite you to join us for our performance of the choral masterpiece:

Handel's MESSIAH

Saturday 16th November, 7.30pm.
Church of St Alban the Martyr, Stanhope St, Birmingham B12 0YF.

We will be joined by the following first-class professional musicians, adding extra sparkle to the performance:

The Musical and Amicable Society - an orchestra of musicians specialising in period instruments to give an authentic baroque sound. Many of you will remember them from our performance of Bach's St John Passion in 2018.

Four talented vocal soloists:
Penny Appleyard, soprano
Philippa Thomas, mezzo
Ed Ballard, baritone
Xavier Hetherington, tenor

Walking for Alan.
On Saturday 5th October, Barry Jones  will be doing a 16 mile sponsored walk linking up many BFCS concert venues, in memory of his friend and fellow tenor Alan Clawley, who died last year. He will be joined for some or all of the route by other singers, and the proceeds will be divided 50/50 between two of Alan's favourite causes: Birmingham Festival Choral Society and Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue.

Further information about Alan, and details about the sponsored walk, can be found on our website.
