Wellington City Council has kindly provided a platform for Candidates' Meetings throughout the city to be listed.
The Mt Cook meeting on 18 September is Ward Candidates Only. The aim is to provide the Ward Candidates with time to share more than a sound-bite of their views.
Look out for meetings where you can hear from Greater Wellington Regional Council  and Mayoral Candidates.
Inner City Wellington is holding a meeting on 5 September with a niche group of Mayoral Candidates.

If you want to support the MCM submission as it stands, you can write your own short submission and state that you support the Mt Cook Mobilised submission.

Here is the link to put in a submission to Wellington City Council. This needs to be done by 5pm on Monday 12 September.

ORANGE - High Residential  Zone - 21 metres = 6 storeys
YELLOW - Medium Residential Zone - 11 metres = 3 storeys 
PURPLE - City Centre Zone - 28.5 metres = 8 storeys

Sludge - Message from the WCC Team

We are writing to update you on the Moa Point Sludge Minimisation Facility (SMF) project. Please share this information with your community and networks.
 
Notice of Requirement now open for submissions
Submissions are now open on the Notice of Requirement for an alteration to Designation 58 (WCC6 under Proposed District Plan) for the construction, operation and maintenance of a new Sludge Minimisation Facility (SMF) at 127 and 141 Stewart Duff Drive.

The closing date for submissions has been extended to 11.59pm Friday 23 September 2022.

Papawai Restoration Area Working Bee

The next Working Bee at Papawai Restoration Area is on Mothers' Day, Sunday 11 September, 10am - 12pm. There will be a refreshment break midway through the work session. Please bring gardening gloves and weeding tools if you have them. All help appreciated.

Papawai Restoration Area is in the Town Belt area between Salisbury Terrace and Papawai Terrace below Lower Prince of Wales Park, Mt Cook.

Gum Gully (below Brooklyn Road, by Central Park Sub-Station)

The group plans to restore the walking paths that have long since grown over, and to remove some of the pest weeds. The next working bee is on Saturday 24 September, 10:30 - 11:30am. We will be talking to Liz Gibson, Stream Ecologist about planning for Gum Gully. Please bring gardening gloves, clipping tools or loppers for the working bee beforehand. Keep Mount Cook Clean Litter Pickup

The next Keep Mount Cook Clean community litter pickup will be on Saturday 1 October 10:30am. Meet outside Mt Cook Kitchen takeaways, 75 Wallace Street, to choose a street to pick-up litter in. We pick up litter for ONE HOUR ONLY. Rubbish bags and gloves supplied.
