Opportunity to testify at the Senate Special Committee to Protect all Texans

The committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 and Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 9 a.m. both days in the Senate Chamber to take up the following five issue areas (the firearms safety charge will be heard on Wednesday):
  • School Safety
  • Mental Health
  • Social Media
  • Police Training
  • Firearm Safety
Texas Handgun Association members are uniquely equipped to speak to this topic, which is broad in design according to the committee staff.  Ideas about how persons trained in the safe handling and use of firearms can make our schools and communities more secure is what they're generally looking for.  And if you have thoughts on how to improve the state's school guardian or marshal programs, or how to further harden the target and protect our children, this would be the time to share those.

For more information, contact Tara Mica, NRA Institute for Legislative Action, Cell 512-636-9314.
