The verdict is out: virtualisation may be very bad for ethics
In this article by Paul Vorster, he mentions that most of us have adopted a more virtual lifestyle since the COVID pandemic. The use of email and virtual communications platforms such as Zoom and Teams have skyrocketed and are now one of the primary communications mechanisms in many organisations. But is this increased virtualisation good for us? How do these mechanisms affect personal and group ethics?

Ethics Officer Certification Programme (EOCP)

Everybody is responsible for ethics in their organisations, but leading governance practice recommends that a specific individual – the Ethics Officer – is responsible for the process of active, practical ethics management. The Ethics Officer Certification Programme (EOCP) is designed to train these individuals. The EOCP addresses the Integrity Management framework and the King IV Code on Corporate Governance and is delivered by experts in the field.
All newly-certified Ethics Officers are publicly recognised on TEI’s website and automatically become TEI Supporters with the first year of subscription paid for.

TEI Research Insights
We bring you research insights from research we have conducted on ethics management and measurement over the past three years. Watch this space for more insights.
Question: Is there a difference in the perspective of women and men towards conduct and culture in an organisation?
Answer: TEI has done a deep analysis of over 80 organisations across the globe in the private, state-owned, and public sectors. This research has allowed us to test some interesting hypotheses about ethics in organisations.
Although we strive to accommodate fair and equal treatment in organisations, we cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that there may be diverse perspectives and experiences. For instance, is the perspective of men and women the same when it comes to ethical conduct and culture in the workplace?
