The fight against corruption is in your hands ethical citizens

In this month's lead article, Liezl Groenewald writes about how corruption will not be addressed by the criminal justice system alone.

Addressing corruption is the responsibility of all citizens of South Africa. You can find out more about how every citizen can address corruption by embracing their ethical citizenship in this informative article.

Whistleblowing Management Handbook

The Whistleblowing Management Handbook is now available!

Whistleblowing enables organisations to access hard-to-reach information that can help leaders to minimise a wide range of risks. Unfortunately, many organisations still focus on the messenger and not the message. This causes potential whistleblowers to remain silent - thereby exposing the organisation and its stakeholders to reputational and financial risk. An effective, well-managed whistleblowing programme and system will ensure that such risks are reduced and addressed timeously.

The Whistleblowing Management Handbook provides practical guidance to persons in ethics governance and management positions who have some form of responsibility for implementing whistleblowing programmes, whistleblowing management systems, and for investigating whistleblowing reports.

Ethics Practitioners’ Survey

Ethics, a catchphrase in South Africa
To better understand the ethics practitioner and the ethics management functions of organisations, 249 ethics practitioners operating in Southern Africa completed the Ethics Practitioners’ Survey.

The survey has highlighted that ethics practitioners have a very challenging role, and most ethics practitioners fulfil this role on a part-time basis where they must simultaneously focus on their primary designation while trying to manage ethics.

The Most Talked About Ethical Issue in 2020
In 1915 Thomas Nixon Carver said: The need for justice grows out of the conflict of human interests. That is to say, if there were no conflict of interests among mankind we should never have invented the word justice, nor conceived the idea for which it stands.

Join us on 27 October 2020 for this half day webinar where you will be given a focused and structured approach to managing conflicts of interest.
