MAKE WAY FOR SUMMER

Sponsor a summer Community Meal

Our summer Community Meals will take place on June 17, July 11 and August 19. Sponsors provide all items necessary for the meal, including paper goods, ice, drinks and food to serve 40 to 50 people. Experience an evening of fun, food and fellowship by signing up to sponsor. Email Helms for more info.

Volunteer with Freedom School

Freedom School is a free summer day camp for school-age children. This six-week program aims to inspire in children a love of reading and learning through a literacy curriculum and enrichment activities. QC Family Tree’s Freedom School site this summer will be held at St. John’s Baptist Church and will host 50 children from grades K-5. Email Sydney for information on how to get involved with Freedom School this summer.

Help our youth eXplore this summer

Our annual summer youth trip will be a week of extreme exploration and exertion as we set up camp in Blowing Rock, NC. Help make this the experience of a lifetime by sponsoring one of our youth members.

Also, we hope to outfit each of our youth with a new pair of hiking boots for the trip. We’re looking into contacting REI, Patagonia, etc., but if you have any useful outdoorsy contacts — or if you happen to have 15 pairs of new hiking boots in a variety of sizes lying around — please let us know.
