Addressing Poverty In Paradise
February 2020  Vol 5, Issue 1 Newsletter

What a journey it is! This year is the beginning of Macario Advantage's fifth year addressing the effects of poverty on islands in the Eastern Caribbean! As we continue to carry out humanitarian projects, we encounter many possibilities for change, for growth, and for renewed hope for the islanders. It's true that we are having an impact, and this won't change.
We wait to see what God will do this year as He continues to work through us to bless islanders in need!
                                                                                                                                                                                             CONTINUING WORK AT CORNERSTONE SHELTER

Macario Advantage returned to this shelter in St. Lucia to continue making positive changes. The vegetable garden is being prepared for planting and will soon provide food to supplement daily meals.
The refurbishment of the furniture in the facility has begun. Repairs will be done in the common area first and then repairs will be done on the beds.

The kitchen and storage area at the Boys Training Center in St. Lucia, which were in need of reorganizing and a fresh coat of paint, has been completed. The open space gives the kitchen staff more preparation area and room to move around with ease.

Macario Advantage has undertaken a large project that will be done in phases at the Feed My Sheep Homeless Shelter in Mahaut, Dominica. Work has begun to remove debris and clean the grounds around the facility, and to clean and organize the interior area of the facility. Work is also in progress to complete a wall to protect the shelter from flooding. The kitchen is being upgraded to make it more user friendly.

As the work progresses, construction phases of this project will be shared in upcoming newsletters.
