Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation research grant awarded to occupational therapy professor


Dr. Michelle Suarez, assistant professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy, has been awarded a grant for a study of treatment of children with food selectivity. The grant builds on Dr. Suarez's existing body of work.

Applications for fall 2016 speech and language services and/or therapy at the Western Michigan University Charles Van Riper Language, Speech and Hearing Clinic are now being accepted for adults and children. Optometrist named President of State Association

WMU Vision Clinic Optometrist Dr. Matthew Johnson has recently been named President of the Michigan Optometric Association.
 
Founded in 1896, the Michigan Optometric Association was created to provide leadership for the development, of Optometrists to provide comprehensive eye care for patients in the state of Michigan.

 
 

Trauma Training Series Scheduled

The Southwest Michigan Children’s Trauma Assessment Center at Western Michigan University’s Unified Clinics is offering a four-session series to learn about the effects of trauma.

Part-time optician
The Vision Clinic at Western Michigan University is looking for an Optician to join their Eye Care team!

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Optical/contact lens sales and dispensing
  • Educating clients on proper eyeglass and contact lens care
  • Advise patients on various types of lenses and frames, including advice on style, weight and color

 Optician prerequisites:

  • Applicants must have experience in an optical or eyecare practice
  • Knowledge of current ophthalmic products and optical measurements
