Welcome to the November Newsletter
We had a wonderful evening on 13th October when Leif Bersweden presented his talk 'Where the Wild Flowers Grow'. Apologies to those members who did not manage to secure a ticket - we were SOLD OUT!

But don't despair, our fourth talk is coming next week:
‘High Helbeck: Transforming an Upland Estate for Nature and People’  a talk by Nicolete Blackett-Ord
at The Witham, Barnard Castle
on Thursday 24th November at 7.30

Nicolete Blackett-Ord, together with her partner Ben, runs the High Helbeck Estate as a unique nature restoration and sustainability project in the North Pennines. The Estate is involved in a multifaceted project working, in collaboration with the North Pennines AONB, the RSPB and The Woodland Trust, to improve the habitat for multiple species across the varied terrain of the Estate and to increase biodiversity.
Nicolete is passionate about the environment, promoting public access and understanding about the countryside and specifically the North Pennines.

Tickets are a very reasonable £5 and need to be booked through The Witham.

This is the most recent talk in a series being organised by Dr Margaret Bradshaw as part of Teesdale Special Flora Trust’s ‘Plants on the Edge project’ during 2022-23,  and follows on from the successful ‘sell-out’ talks given by Dr Margaret Bradshaw, John O’Reilly, Lee Schofield and Leif Bersweden.
“Absolutely fascinating talk, inspiring and informative.”
“Great talk. Accessible price too! Thank you.”
