Newsletter December 2016
Well this is the last Newsletter of this year - wow another year has flown by.
By the time you all come back from the break the Club will be another year older - it will be 12 (Older than almost all of the Students in the first 2 lessons)!
I expect 2017 to be as and more successful, but equally as fun and rewarding. Thank You to each and everyone of you, students & parents for your commitment, hard work and enjoyment you give me.

          Poomsae Competition

                Sunday 29th January
There is a Poomsae (Patterns) Competition, in Hampshire. This will be a great Competition to go and watch, for you to see how Poomsae is performed in Competitions and how it is expected to be performed in Gradings.

Please let me know if you would like to go.
                 New Equipment
We have been allocated some funding from the Carnival Committee, which I will buy some new equipment with.
Some more Mats, Kick Targets, Breaker Boards etc.
We will be able to get the new equipment by the New Year.

The grading took place on Sunday 11th December in Bournemouth. 10 students went down.
I am pleased to say all 10 passed :-)
Huge well done to them.
Below is a couple of pictures of them after the grading, with their certificates.

 Match Day with Bournemouth Club
On Sunday 20th November James & Tom went down to Bournemouth to take art in a Match Day with Dorset TKD, Bluewave, South Hams & New Milton TKD. The training session was run by 2 polish Nationals one of which was in the Rio Olympics.
Both Tom & James did very well, they had a match on the electronic PSS. Tom did well scoring a head shot and being 1 pint up until last few seconds which then took it to sudden death (Golden Point) which he lost by an unfortunate punch.
James put up a good fight and their match wasn't meant to have head shots as the other person had no gum shield. unfortunately a wayward kick from the opponent caught James on his Jaw - he carried on till the end of the round, but then the shock of it set in and he decided not to continue.
I am glad to say there was no lasting damage and it hasn't deterred him from sparring again - and will vow to go back stronger.
Well done Lads I am proud of you.
