ERO Review
Thank you for your support of our ERO review this week.
It was a thorough, respectful experience which allowed us to share our journey so far and our next steps for the future.
The Board of Trustees and Senior Leaders met with the ERO team yesterday afternoon to hear their findings and have an opportunity to ask any questions of the information shared. We will receive a draft report in about a month to read and review and will have the opportunity to discuss anything we feel needs further discussion.
All families should have received their Board Election information.
Are you interested in standing for the Board?
If you are interested in how the school is governed and want to have some input into this, this is your time to get involved.
Teachers' Collective Agreement
Teachers across New Zealand voted overwhelmingly to NOT Accept the Government’s latest offer and are likely to Strike on Wednesday 29 May. At this stage the Board of Trustees have been informed of this intention however NZEI may return to the negotiating table prior to this. We will keep you informed. Should the strike go ahead Target Road School is likely to be closed as the majority of our staff are NZEI members. We have arranged for A+ to be open on the day and if you think you will need to use their services you will need to book your children in. Contact 443 5386.
The raffle tickets for the beautiful artwork donated by Shanna Blanchet are now on sale.  Each ticket will cost $2.00.  This is on display in the office foyer.
The second prize is a $50.00 Count Down voucher. Tickets will come home for you to purchase or you can buy them directly from the office. The raffle will be drawn on the last day of the term Friday 5 July.
Celebrating Success
Don’t forget each Friday at 12.00pm we hold our School Assembly. Students share their amazing learning, we learn songs, we celebrate successes and it’s all organised by our wonderful student leaders.
Pink Shirt Day, was celebrated today at Target Road School. This is a global day that celebrates diversity and creates environments where all people can feel safe, valued and respected. Each year, workplaces, schools, organisations and individuals join the movement to make a stand against bullying.
Bullying is a serious issue. At Target Road School we want everyone to be safe and respected. Our values of Manaakitanga- Respect, Manawaroa- Resilience and Takohanga- Responsibility underpin our beliefs that all need to safe, valued and respected.
Pink Shirt Day is more than a day, it’s a movement. Today is the 10th anniversary.
Thank you Pippa Graham from R13 your leadership in this day. We really appreciate Pippa’s initiative and drive to make this day a celebration and for highlighting the importance of us all .

Netball update from Melissa Free

Taniwha’s year 5 netball.
The girls had their first game on 11 May 2019 playing against the Sherwood Terriers. It was a fast paced game where the team moved up and down the court really well passing and calling for each other.  An epic win 17 - 5 with player of the day going to Zoey. Well done girls on a great first game!
Kaipatiki Kahui Ako Quiz Night

On 29 June 2019 we are planning a Quiz event for all of the hard working teachers within our Kahui Ako, or community of learning. This is an opportunity for teachers to get to know one another outside of school commitments and for them to make connections that may be beneficial for our students learning. This networking event is funded by the teachers themselves and any help towards prizes on the evening would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for anything that may be suitable for spot prizes or grand prizes.

Do you work for a company who may be willing to donate a prize to our Quiz Night? Please get in touch with Janelle Harris on with expressions of interest.

Thank you for supporting our teachers.
