Dear church leaders in our network
It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you all that over the last 12 months, the Christian Community Churches of New Zealand Trust (CCCNZ) has experienced good progress and a sincere interest with what has been achieved by many within our movement. We thank God for this and are humbled by His ongoing leading.
While we have the 2017 general election front and centre, and its resulting outcome, this November sees the first anniversary of the formation of CCCNZ.  The establishment board became the Board on the signing of the Trust Deed, and that Board committed to a process of electoral rejuvenation going forward.
The CCCNZ Trust Deed set in motion the renewal of the board through elections of new or re-standing trustees.  Each year there are two trustees who retire by rotation and would need to be re-elected, and two trustees to be appointed under the Deed.  Of the deemed elected trustees, first up this year are David Goold from Auckland and Graham Fletcher of Invercargill. David has chosen to step down from the Board, and we thank him for his valuable input into the establishment of CCCNZ.  Graham, being eligible to stand, offers himself for re-election with the support of the Board.
Each church in the Open Brethren / CCCNZ network is invited to vote in this year’s trustee election, whether they have chosen to link in and formally join CCCNZ or not.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you and invite you to consider nominating a candidate to stand for the trustee elections.  The process as outlined in the Deed requires nominees to forward a short CV or biography of their ministry involvement, commitment and vision (we suggest 200 words max) and a photo.  Each nomination requires the support of at least two Elders from the nominees attending church.
A copy of the Deed can be viewed on the Charities website and our number is CC54332. The full name is Christian Community Churches of New Zealand Trust.

If you are confident about what CCCNZ has been doing in these few months of operations, and are passionate about the future work of CCCNZ in NZ, we welcome you to consider board involvement.  We need the board to reflect a national perspective on our movement, and your involvement might be what is needed.  The nominations need to be received by the CCCNZ office by Wednesday 4 October.  If there are only two nominations, those nominees will be deemed to be elected in lieu of a ballot. Please consider standing and being part of this new move in our churches.
The timetable that follows sets out the key dates with regard to this year’s elections, and email reminders through the voting period 24 Oct to 24 Nov.  Results will be announced after voting closes on Friday noon 24 November.  CCCNZ has contracted Electionz to run an on-line and postal ballot for this year’s election.
 Final list of candidates confirmed by Monday 9 October
 Design of online voting site & candidate profiles starts Monday 9 October
 Final database sent to Electionz Monday 16 October
 Online voting site reviewed by CCCNZ 16 - 20 October
 Online voting site signed off Friday 20 October

 Fourth reminder email blast Wednesday 22 November

Elections will be held at this time each year. This will renew the Board and ensure that 6 trustees hold office who have been elected, and those elected board members are then able to appoint people to the Board who complement their skills.
We look forward to your participation so that the Board can be renewed and reflect the wide needs and distinctives of our churches.
If you have any queries, please direct these to Sheri at the CCCNZ office:
Every blessing.
On behalf of the Board,

Gordon Fountain

Co Chairman
