New task management calendar
for the Commercial Outreach Tracker

The Commercial Outreach Tracker has a new feature: a calendar to help you schedule and manage the tasks on your outreach to-do list. The Tracker already makes it easy to log outreach activities related to businesses and multi-family properties, track commercial compliance, and automate estimates and assessments. Now you can use the calendar feature to schedule follow-ups or set a reminder to check a business’s progress weeks or months down the road. With options to rank your to-do items by priority and receive a daily or weekly email digest of everything that’s coming up, the new calendar feature makes the Tracker the comprehensive tool for managing your commercial outreach program.

Embeddable Sites now included
in the Public Education Platform

Recyclist’s first product, the Public Education Platform, provides turn-key recycling websites for cities and counties, as well as ongoing digital outreach for their residents. Now, our Platform customers can embed mini versions of their recycling sites anywhere they want, with only a few simple lines of code. This means that now all of our customers' great website content, including local information on reducing, reusing and recycling 250+ items, can be accessed from the website of any city, county, hauler, school, library, or other community partner. The Embeddable Site helps increase the reach of your recycling website, and it works to provide consistent recycling information across local agencies and other community leaders. Can online ads improve recycling outreach?
We recently conducted a test to see if online ads could be part of an effective recycling outreach strategy. For three months, we ran Google AdWords and Facebook campaigns for three of our Public Education Platform customers: a mid-sized city, a small town, and a rural county. Here’s what we found: online ads do improve website reach, and not all ads are created equal. Find out which online ad service was the hands-down winner for promoting recycling.

Data standards: A key to industry savings
The waste industry has been slower than most to adopt data standards, and a new study shows just how much it may be costing us. The Local Digital Coalition, a government-funded organization in the UK, launched the Local Waste Service Standards Project to find out what common data standards could accomplish for local waste management services. It turns out that English local authorities could save £505 million over a 14-year period by using waste data standards. Read their business case for data standardization here.
