The social action committee is forming a subcommittee to support Syrian refugees. One aspect of this work will be to support the non-governmental Israeli group IsraAid and the Berlin Jewish community in their work with Syrian refugees in Germany. The Social Action Committee has a volunteer database of over 50 people waiting to provide a helping hand to UVJC community members in need. Volunteers are able to help in many ways such as delivering a meal, grocery shopping, light house repairs, or visiting someone who is housebound.
