Pacific Crest Savings Bank Quarterly Newsletter
Spring 2016

Tax Day is behind us and spring is in full bloom. Whether you’ve filed an extension or are enjoying a refund, we hope this new season brings focus and fortitude to your financial planning.
At Pacific Crest, springtime is high season for our favorite causes and the opportunity to give. We look forward to seeing familiar faces at the annual charitable events we support and warmly invite you to join us in learning more about the important causes these groups support.

There is a lot happening in our region besides just the tulips blooming and we want to keep you updated on our latest news, share our insights into banking and finance trends, and offer great ways for us to partner with you to help build your future.

As always, if there are ways our team of experienced professionals can help, we’d love to hear from you.

Hybrid Approach to Banking
In an era where we can send money through a text or pay bills with one click of a mouse, banking has never been more convenient. For consumers, it may feel as though new technology is making traditional brick-and-mortar banks obsolete. Meanwhile, small business adoption of banking technology is lagging behind. Savvy businesses should tap the efficiencies of online tools while also leveraging the benefits of relationship banking that digital self-service can’t provide. Finding the right mix can dramatically increase a business’s bottom line and help better plan for the future.

Arm yourself with the information of what services and conversations you should approach face-to-face vs. finger-to-phone.

Fed Proceeds with Caution
The Fed kept rates steady after its March meeting, despite its initial projected rate hikes for the first half of the year. It appears that the overall global economy and U.S. stock market's volatility will slow the Fed's rate hike plans. Pacific Crest's lending team says that if international economic growth quickens and the U.S. recovery takes off, then interest rates will increase at a faster pace, as they typically do during a strong economy. Reuters notes that this rate hike could happen in June.

We'll continue to follow the rates closely and keep you informed on what you need to know about future decisions.
