SoapBox Check-in | Coronavirus, Census 2020, & Community
W E A L L W E G O T
At this point, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted you in some way and has undoubtedly caused measurable harm across our global community.
Without getting into all of the details, this pandemic has shown the necessity for a strong social safety net and a full-fledged reimagining of how we prioritize resources and funding for people and the planet over profit and power. As we have heard familiar concerns and solutions to decarcerate jails, put a moratorium on rent/mortgages, and a universal basic income in mainstream conversations amidst our current crisis, we are reminded just how possible the world we want to see actually is.
Capitalism is a constant crisis, and our hope is that we come out of this stronger than how we came in. With that, take care of yourself, take care of each other, check-in with your communities, and amplify your vision for better future.
As folks may be working from home and/or finding themselves with more time on their hands (or not, we all lead different lives), we’d encourage you to check out some of our short- and long-form visual pieces, read our editorial, listen to our podcast, engage with us on social media, or just check in with us as we check in with you.
