Tickets for Annual Bowling Event are now live!

Grab your friends and family and join SWE-Central Indiana for our Annual Bowling Fundraiser. This event is hosted by our Funds Development/ Corporate Relations (FDCR) Committee and supports SWE of Central Indiana’s scholarships and events throughout the year.

As always, you need not be an engineer nor a woman to attend our events! We encourage anyone and everyone to join us if you are interested.

Outreach Opportunity: January 21 IUPUI Workshop
We are looking for professionals in the engineering or recruiting functions to volunteer January 21, 2020 5:00pm-6:30pm @ IUPUI Campus. The goal is to offer some high level strategies to help students navigate career fairs and interviews as well as provide an opportunity to practice related skills.

Outreach Opportunity: February 19 MathCounts
Volunteers are needed to host the annual MathCounts competition at Sycamore School (1750 W 64th St). MathCounts is a national program that provides students in grades 6-8 the opportunity to compete in live, in-person contests against and alongside their peers. Outreach Opportunity: February 22 IEEE Discover Engineering at The Children's Museum
Volunteers are needed to interact with guests and get children excited about Engineering as a career choice. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the Museum to help guests perform simple activities that apply basic engineering principles as well as talk about engineering and answer any questions children may have.

SWE is looking for volunteers Volunteers are needed to help run two activity booths. Volunteer shifts will be 8:30am-12:00pm and/or 12:00pm-3:30pm.

Wow! That's Engineering! Jr. are now live!
Have you ever wondered how the buildings around you are built? How the machines around you work? How airplanes fly? This one-day program is made for K-3rd grade female students ready to explore how science and art can work together to solve problems by going full STEAM ahead.

Save the Date: Colts Celebrate International Women's Day

On March 13, Pass the Torch is partnering with the Indianapolis Colts to host a breakfast and speaker. More information on Pass the Torch and their Mission, can be found on their website:

The fundamentals of in-flight breakups reveal that there are three root causes...each will be discussed and explained by Dr. Robert Winn, the Principal and Chairman of the Board of Engineering Systems, Inc.

SWE Scholarships Now Open! 

Upperclass Deadline to Apply: February 14, 2020.

In 2019, the Society of Women Engineers awarded nearly 260 new and renewed scholarships valued at more than $810,000.  SWE Scholarships support those who identify as a female/woman and are pursuing an associate, bachelor or graduate degree in engineering, engineering technology and computer science both in the United States and internationally.

Students complete one application and are considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The application process is entirely online including submission of recommendation letters and transcripts.

If you will be a sophomore through Ph.D. candidate in the 2020-2021 academic year, apply online for a SWE Scholarship December 1, 2019 through February 14, 2020. If you will be a freshman in the upcoming fall semester, you may apply March 1 through May 1, 2020Learn more on our SWE Scholarships page.
