We are hosting a fun and informal wine tasting event on September 25th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM at Mallow Run Winery's Private Tasting room.Each guest will receive 6 complimentary wine tastings, plus one complimentary glass of wine! Snacks will be provided by SWE-CI.

IndyRAGE is a FIRST Robotics competition event focused on empowering young women in high school to pursue education and careers in STEM fields. For this special event, established high schools FIRST Robotics teams will submit thier robot to play in the previous year's competition game “DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE." Each of the high school robot drive teams and coaches playing must be female. During the lunch break, volunteers will lead special events and activities focused on diversity, inclusion and breaking down barriers.
Volunteers are needed for half day or full day shifts. Available spots are: to set up the competition fields; reset the fields; referee the event; queue the next teams; judge the competitions; and more! You do not need FIRST Robotics experience for most of these roles. Guidance will be given for leaders and volunteers. Lunch and Crew t-shirts are available for ALL volunteers.

Beers and Volunteers is a one-day, public event that showcases Indianapolis’ wonderful nonprofits in action. SWE-CI will have a booth with a STEM activity that's fun for all ages! The organization with the most people in attendance will get a charitable contribution from Sun King, so please sign up and show us your support! Please RSVP and mention SWE-CI! The SWE-Central Indiana and SWE Purdue sections are partnering with the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana for Circle the City! This annual event will expose middle school Girl Scouts to a variety of fun activities during their exploration and overnight stay at the Indiana State Museum. SWE-CI will be hosting our annual Industry Roundtable Event on November 1st at the Cummins Distribution Headquarters in Downtown Indianapolis. This year, we have invited some of our local SWE members who have been chosen to give presentations at the Annual Society Conference to give a short version on their topic. Come hear about topics such as “The Art of SWAGing: Making Smart Estimations,” “Why Netflix Is Killing Your Career,” and “Hidden Minefields: Practicing True Empathy.” More information to follow!
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:
“A World In Motion” STEM Outreach with Girls Inc. When: Every Wednesday, from Sept. 4th to Nov. 20th, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm Where: Girls Inc. in Franklin, IN.
The program goal is to increase interest in STEM in among K-4th grade students exciting semester-long STEM projects. 3 leaders are needed to commit to facilitate every week for the semester long project, and 9 additional volunteers are needed per week for any number of weeks they are interested. Volunteers will mentor/guide the Girls Inc. students in executing the projects each week. Please contact Anand Nageswaran Bharath (email@example.com) if interested!
MATHCOUNTS of Central Indiana Volunteer Opportunity
MATHCOUNTS is a non-profit organization whose goal is to make learning math fun! The programs are aimed at building problem solving skills and positive attitudes about math so that 6-8th grade students embrace challenges and expand their academic and career opportunities in the future. The Central Indiana group is currently looking for volunteers who can work as coaches, committee members, and sponsors!
